“Explosion in Padova (or in Venice, or in Milan), 14 deads and at least 40 wounded: this is the title of the take of an agency that has been opened by several pc during the last days. The take was attached with a video of an explosion. The news had all the values to be cathed by the main Italian information media and by the users who live in the cities of Padova, Venice or Milan. Once clicked on the video it appeared a pop-up that invited the users to download the latest version of “Flash Player”, a software that enables to create and decode multimedial animations.
But the incautious user who took this operation didn’t know what he was about to. Into the pc it was downloaded a Trojan (a virus) that let the hackers enter into the memory of the machine and, for example, discover the codes of the home banking, too. After some inspections , the postal police claimed that the virus was also able to “regionalize” the message, climbing up the telematic chain and fitting it for the place of the user who was reading.
The dangers of the net are becoming always more and more, and it is not enough anymore to be careful not to open the attachments of unknown mails or not to download contents from the software peer to peer.
Even the desire of information, sometimes, could be noxious .
